Very good! I really liked this book. It's a romance book with actual romance! Neither of the main characters were unlikeable. There was the usual strife of missplaced blame for events. Mystery and unexpected turns, great love scenes, lots of misunderstandings, and of course all works out in the end. I will read it again.

This is still my favorite of Johanna Lindsey's many novels. I keep hoping to see stories abut Colen and Niall (when he's full-grown, of course).

Jamie is Laird to the MacKinnion tribe and has been feuding with the Fergusons for a loong time. They had a truce but then the Fergusons struck in the night to start the feuding all over. But the enemy is not who they both think. While scouting on Ferguson land, Jamie comes across a beautiful wood nymph bathing in a pond. He doesn't know that she is Dugal Fergusons daughter but he knows he has to have her. He searches everywhere for her but cannot find her. He is shocked to find his brother has her hidden in his room and plans to marry her. Jamie will have none of that. He determins to woo her even though she is petrafied of him. He still does not know that his wood nymph is the Ferguson's daughter but when he finds out he is even more determined to end the feud and have her. Before he can win her he must prove that the Fergusons are not his real enemy and expose the true devils who are determined to keep these two tribes from becoming allies. He will do whatever it takes to have her for himself, even if it means marrying the enemy's daughter.
