I thought this was an excellent book!
It is very candidly ridden and gives a great insight into the daily life of SF guys. There aren't to much combat, so it focuses on what makes SF special - winning the hearts and minds of soldiers and civilians alike in Afghanistan! The only part I found annoying, was that the author spends a lot of time talking about his own relationship with the soldiers. No doubt fascinating for him, but slightly boring for me. Especially as I have been deployed twice to Afghanistan.
Highly recomended, if you want to know more about what most soldiers (at least most SF) experience in Afghanistan.

Ive read a number of military books (No easy day, ....and a hard rain fell, Lone Survivor, American Sniper, etc), and I must say this was one if the more boring books Ive read. Very little in the way of action or any battles and only really focuses on the relationship between Afghan and American soldiers. I wouldnt recommend this book and doubt I will read any more from this author.

It was a pretty good read. Some inaccuracies but nothing major. Gives an alternative insight into the daily life of deployed SF soldiers.

It was agood read. The only problems was that he was generic when describing trucks and when he called a 203 the whole weapon system
