Since Georgie Quinn's mother died after a brief illness, the highlight of her life has become "jogger stalking" every morning with her roommates Tess and Cat. Stuck running the senior center her mother founded in Newport, RI, until a replacement director is found, Georgie dreams of returning to her glamorous life in Atlanta. As that life begins to unravel, she discovers a whole new one in Newport where the jogger turns out to be sexy detective and tree hugger Nathan Caldwell. Determined to get her mind off her many problems-including a possible threat to her own health-Georgie indulges in what she intends to be a no-holds-barred one-night stand with Nathan. Unfortunately, Nathan has other ideas and sets out to have a relationship with her. Tess, on the run from an abusive husband, and Cat, who raised her younger brother and sister, hook up with Nathan's brothers, Ben, an injured Iraqi war veteran, and Ian, a single-father and talented musician. Add a zany cast of seniors who seem determined to drive Georgie slowly mad with their never-ending needs and comparisons to her sainted mother, and you've got the ingredients for a fast-paced, often comical, emotional journey that leads Georgie straight to the home of her heart.

Too much going on. Ms Force has a flair for character development, but this thing was SO JAM PACKED that it was distracting and easy to lose the thread of what was going on. Also the pacing was way off, where sometimes it would be a day, then the next day then fast forward five weeks. I liked all the characters, but it suffered for how many plots and subplots were going on. Would have liked this better had it been at least 2 books, and she had taken her time with it. Otherwise, confusing and rushed.

This is the best I've read since the last Marie Force......was that earlier this week? I'm so excited since I've discovered how many more books she's written........gotta go start reading. But wait! Isn't there another unmarried brother.......and can't there be a prequel about the married brothers?...and how about getting Georgie's dad back? MARIE!!! I don't think we're done here.

Very good! This is one of Marie Force's early books and while it lacks the polish of her current titles, it was a very enjoyable read that I recommend to contemporary romance fans who enjoy a little spice in their story. A well written storyline with characters that were engaging and very likable, I really enjoyed the interaction between all three roommates and I admired the close relationship between the three brothers they meet and begin to date. While there are many lighthearted moments in the arc of the story, there were very serious topics as well. They include the sudden death of a parent, emotional and physical abuse, absentee parents, cancer, a wounded veteran and the plight of the elderly which are all relevant to our lives today. Once you try a book by this author you will be a fan forever.
