Get What You Want: The Art of Making and Manifesting Your Intentions by Tony Burroughs

Tony Burroughs was a young man living in Hawaii, when an older philosopher sage took him under his wing and became his mentor at an exotic fruit farm on the big island. Over a period of ten years, Tony learned how to farm as well as "The Information," a series of oral lessons, comprising a body of deep teachings about the very meaning of life, the history of mankind, and how to not just exist but to evolve and live a meaningful life filled with love, peace and abundance. A core teaching was in regard to intention-setting and Tony and two friends started a weekly circle to try it out. This first humble circle of three people had dramatic and life-changing effects that have resulted in Tony Burrough's life-long mission to guide others in the art of manifesting the best in themselves, their lives, and for the highest good of all. The tenet of Get What You Want is simple, powerful and profound: "that which you are reaching toward is also reaching out toward you." And, for the first time, Tony has gathered manhy of the key teachings of "The Information" into one book. Get What You Want shows how to set your intention to have that which you desire come to you as easily and effortlessly as possible.

This book has really helped me become the best version of myself.  Having a different intention every day forces me to create daily goals for myself.  Viewing everything that I have done in life as knowledge rather than mistakes has re-shaped my self-esteem.  I am finally starting to believe in myself and refraining from constantly putting myself down.  I really do love the idea that everything benefits me in some way.  Tony doesn't tell me to learn from my mistakes; he tells me that I nothing I do is a mistake.  This is a very refreshing inspirational book.  I recommend that anybody, who is looking for a life-change, read this book!

Tony Burroughs’ book truly does teach you how to Get What You Want.  He relies on the power of positive thought and personal approval to teach “the art of making and manifesting your intentions”.  Open to any page of this book to get a get your prescribed intention for the day along with a short story of explanation on how to make that intention materialize.  This book makes the philosophy of living accessible and tangible for any reader.  Start taking control of your life and what you want through the process of positive intentions.

The book helps you focus on who YOU are rather than who other EXPECT you to be--or even who you expect yourself (which isn't always who you want to be). With topics such as "The Downside of Conforming," "Conscious Language," "The Old Ways and the New Ways," and "Freeing our Spirit," Burroughs covers a vast battleground of inner emotions and thoughts, guiding readers to live in the present and how best to do so.

Intention-setting advice from one of the founders of the movement - pretty cool! Very hands-on exercises, and you can pretty much open it to any page and find something uplifting and motivational .

I was asked to read this book for a group that was getting together intent on making their lives better, and seeking a method of doing so. Having just finished T. THorn Coyle's book Making Magic of your life, I guess this one seemed a little hollow... But I gve it my full attention. It's intent is to help the reader find out who they are not who they have been lad to believe they are. It isa book about removing self doubt and reaching for your desires... which immediately brought me back to the work by T. Thorne Coyle if I had read them in the other order, I might have found this book to be motivational.. but instead... well I was disappointed...
