Getting Down to Business by Allison B. Hanson

Some jobs come with unexpected benefits . . .

Alyssa runs her personal life just like her professional one: smoothly and efficiently. She learned in the worst way possible that investing her heart in a relationship only leads to disaster, and she won’t take that risk again. Pleasure is still on the table though—as long as there are no feelings involved. Until a one-night stand leaves a lasting impression.

When after-work drinks lead to an after-hours hookup, Grayson finds himself playing by Alyssa’s rules—but she leaves him wanting more. Even when they discover they work for the same company, Alyssa is all business—on the outside, at least. As far as she’s concerned, keeping Grayson at a safe distance is now part of her job description, even if it’s her most challenging task. But when her living situation falls apart, Grayson makes her an offer she can’t refuse . . .

The terms of their new merger are strict: roommates only; hands off. But every contract can be broken—and every heart can be melted—if the deal is sweet enough . . .

4.5 Stars! Getting Down to Business by Allison B. Hanson, is a sexy, slightly emotional read with characters that I really wanted spend more time with. Ms. Hanson's voice is passionate, easy to understand, and straight forward. She tackles being cruelly blindsided, heartache, and a new relationship, in an amusing yet serious manner. This novel has a lot going on and as result, I was engaged from start to finish. After an amazing one night stand, Alyssa and Grayson have no idea that they share so many commonalities. They both work for the same company, in the same building, but on different floors. When Alyssa needs a place to reside temporarily, it is Grayson who comes to her rescue. Because they are now roommates, Alyssa puts a "no sex rule" into action. However, the rule quickly dissipates as their feelings evolve for one another. Alyssa and Grayson are amazing together, and they challenge each other without even knowing it. They never give up on the chance for happiness. This is a nicely-written book that should be added to your TBR list.

Fun, fresh, and sexy are the words that first come to mind when I think of this book. Alyssa and her standoffish ways are a sure sign of trust issues. Issues she knows she has and with good reason. Never again will she let her heart get involved just to be shattered again. Grayson is determined to find a way around Alyssa's walls. He knows they could be great together if she would just give them a chance! When Alyssa finds herself in need of a place to stay Grayson sees this as the perfect opportunity to show her everything she's missing. Who will win this emotional tug of war?? This is a great fun read that I think everyone will enjoy. I highly recommend it.

A relationship of convenience becomes a conflict of interest. What starts as some after hours fun between co-workers, becomes tricky real fast when hearts become involved. Will the queen of ice thaw enough for the master of seduction to make his move? Temporary is about to become permanent in a very complicated way. Ms. Hanson keeps it light while dealing with some tough characters. Getting Down to Business is a seductively amusing, mass of contradictions that makes an hard to resist ride.
