Just finished "Ghost of Spirirt Bear," an excellent sequel to the "Touching Spirit Bear" book on the recommended reading list for 8th graders at my school. Made me teary and greatful to work at a school that isn't mostly comprised of gangs and drug addicts. An uplifting story about how teens can make positive life changes.

This was a great sequel. It followed the first book very well and allowed the two main characters to figure out some of the answers for themselves. It was an intriguing twist to have Cole Matthews who was the agressive bully in the first book get bullied in the second and set out to change the boys that bully him as well. Mikalson creates characters with real flaws and issues that also have heart and courage. The only part that I found unsatisfying was Cole's relationship with his father but it was in the first book as well. I think it is an honest portrayal and applaud him for not tying up every end and creating a happy ending that very realistically would not have happened in real life. I am also happy that Peter developed into a truly three-dimensional character with a backbone and bucks Cole's opinion at the end. They develop into deeper friends and the trust and support between them solidifies. I was impressed. If you missed the first book I highly recommend it as well. My 13-year-old read the books with me and loved the books as well. Great for even good kids without big issues to see a peer that can put his life back together after making mistakes and learn to heal physically and mentally. It is a process we do over and over in life!

The sequel to "Touching Spirit Bear" was well written, interesting, and left me wanting to make a change in the world. But unfortunately, "Ghost of Spirit Bear" does not stand up to the first; the book seemed to try to hard to get a message across, which made the book a bit annoying. Don't get me wrong the book was great but the attempt to put forward a message overshadowed the fun of the book. I must recommend reading the book if you have read the first, but if you haven't read "Touching Spirit Bear" pick it up and get reading!!!

Im a story writer myself. A LOT of people read them. I like urs but try to make it longer. I like the whole idea of the story and i couldnt have thought of it myself. But once u talk about the shapeshifter then go onto another thing it makes it seem u ran out of ideas. But i can bot wait to hear more. ( btw action in the first ch. always gets a readers attention.) ; ) - from-- mysterygirl152

Read result 1 first. |he tries to think and turns into a large child spirit bear. Then switches back. "Uuuuuuh..... what was that?" Spiritpaw asked. "Uuuuuuuuuuuuummmm. Your a shapeshifter. Quite rare actually" the leader meowed. She seems much to suprised. "Very few shapeshifters even exist. They were all much to rare to find. I forgot to ask you your name. What is it?" The leader asked. "Im spiritpaw. My old clan kicked me out. I forget the name of the clan though." He said. He heard something. "What was that?" Spiritpaw mewed quickly. "Roaringstar. Come back. Hinterclan warriors are waiting at your den" the cat noticed spiritpaw. "Oh. I see. Let him join. He might turn out as a great warrior." The cat meowed. Looking back at roaringstar. "Ok jetwing. Im coming." Roaringstar looks at spiritpaw. "You may join our clan. I will give you a mentor as soon as i can." Roaringstar meowed. "Thank you roaaringstar." He bows politely and goes toward the camp, following roaringstar and jetwing.| i will make chapter 2 in result 3. Plz reply on how good it was.
