Ghost Talker, the fourth novel in the Ghost Seer series, finds Clare and Zach trying to solve the problem of a poltergeist disturbing Buffalo Bill's grave. Robin D. Owens has done a good job of evolving the psychic abilities of these two characters, as well as increasing the depth of feelings between them, so that the relationships continuing storyline is moving forward. Nothing makes a reader more mad than a stagnating romance, and this one is anything but standing still! Clare's psychic abilities are confined to being able to speak to ghosts from the Old West. In this book, she uses an old west ghost as a conduit of sorts to help she and Zach solve what turns out to be a current problem. Zach puts his sleuthing abilities to work, and takes a larger role in this book, in solving the mystery, than he has in the past. I liked that change, as it puts their relationship on a more even footing, which I think it needed, to make their feelings more believable. The good versus evil theme, didn't just play out in the Old West. They had a real life antagonist to protect themselves against, which forced Clare to make a decision about her life as a psychic. Would her psychic life remain private, or would she have to out herself? Clare and Zach are opening up about their feelings, and their psychic abilities seem to have a more permanent foothold in their lives. In fact, they both seemed to have gained a few more! If you have read the other three novels in this series, you will enjoy the fourth and will be looking forward to the next! ❤️❤️❤️❣

Ghost Talker is the fourth book in Robin D. Owens' Ghost Seer series (following Ghost Seer, Ghost Layer and Ghost Talker). Although they could probably be read as stand-alone novels, I highly recommend reading them in order, just to develop a sense of the beautiful world-building and character development which are a hallmark of the storytelling at which Robin D.Owens excels. Clare Cermak is an accountant who inherits a paranormal ability to see ghosts of the Old West, and an obligation to help them transition to the afterlife. Zach Slade is an ex-cop, forced out of law enforcement due to a bullet wound obtained in the line of duty. Both Clare and Zach are facing drastically changed lives, which include acceptance of gifts they never wanted, and learning to trust in themselves, and their evolving feelings toward each other. With the help of alternately (or simultaneously) endearing and comical spirit dog Enzo, and a cast of evolving secondary characters, Clare and Zach are asked to help lay the ghost of a poltergeist who has been disturbing Buffalo Bill's grave. They are aided by another spirit, that of his friend, Texas Jack (an actual historical figure as well). Along with the meticulous attention to geography, historical fact and settings, Robin D. Owens adds her own gift of imagination and heart and passion, as we feel for the spirits, hope for the best, and go along for the lovely, lovely ride. I highly recommend this series, and this book in particular, if you are looking for an escape from the mundane, strong but human characters and their beautifully evolving romance, mystery and a fascinating bit of fantasy thrown into insightful historical contexts. For readers who enjoy fantasy and paranormal romance, I highly recommend any - and all - of Robin's series, including the Celta, Mystic Circle, and Summoning series. All are guaranteed to transport you to places you'd really rather not leave. I eagerly anticipate the next Ghost Seer stories, and hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

If you are looking for something to read while waiting for Allegiance of Honor, may I recommend the Ghost Seer series by Robin D. Owens? I just finished reading the fourth book in the series (which was only published as an Intermix ebook unlike the other three), and I have to say it didn't disappoint. If you like romance with the paranormal mixed in, you'll love this series. Claire Cermak is a reluctant ghost seer who can see ghosts of the Old West. An accountant by trade, she "inherits" the gift when her great-aunt dies along with a fortune and a ghostly companion named Enzo in the form of a black Lab. She meets Zack Slade (no relation to the gunslinger), a former deputy sheriff turned investigator, and together they help ghosts move on while falling in love with one another. The stories are based around Ms Owens' home town of Denver, Colorado, and she does extensive research on locations and subject matter before, during, and after writing her manuscripts. This adds a sense of authenticity to the underlying story, and makes me want to visit the areas mentioned, just to see the same places she visited. If you are familiar with her Celta series, or her two series published by Luna Books before Harlequin shut the imprint down, then you are aware of what an invocative writer Robin Owens can be. I wholeheartedly urge you to try this series, starting with the first book, "Ghost Seer". See if you don't fall for Claire, Zach, and Enzo yourselves.

Ghost Talker by Robin D. Owens is the 4th book in her Ghost Seer series. I enjoy this series, as it is a different type of read for me, with ghosts as the main theme. Robin D. Owens is a wonderful writer and I love two of her other series. She can take any theme, usually different and paranormal or fantasy and make it fun and believable; she also has a way of creating great characters. In Ghost Talker, we meet up again with Clare, Zach and Enzo as Clare is involved once again to help a ghost move on. But first there usually is a mystery or something to prolong it. I loved Ghost Talker and I thought this was the best one yet. Clare becomes more confident, and her relationship with Zach grows into love for both of them. Together, with Enzo, our loveable ghost dog, they all three make a great team. This new case for Clare had a nice calmer ghost, not some evil spirits from previous stories. There was a villain, who pretended to talk to the dead, taking people’s money and being the fraud he was. He was determined to bring Clare down. Actually the story revolved around two ghosts, Texas Jack and a poltergeist, who is a recent ghost who is confused and wild. Before Clare and team can help Jack move on, he had to help them solve the issue of the new ghost and help him move on. This was a fun story, with a lot of attention paid to Clare and Zach’s hot romance, and the coming to terms with their calling and accepting it. Though Clare is the Ghost Seer; Zach does have some psychic ability of his own, which is more of a warning system with crows. There was excitement and danger, especially when the fraudulent medium sees his ruse being revealed and goes after Clare. To tell too much more would be spoilers. I really enjoyed this story, and am very happy that Clare has finally fully accepted her calling. Again, Enzo makes this a fun journey with his antics and helping both Clare and Zach. Robin D. Owens does a wonderful job of continuing the adventures of Clare, Zach and Enzo with an exciting, at times tense, historical tale of the old west, though in modern times, and the great romance between Clare and Zach. If you enjoy mysteries, adventure, excitement, fun, ghost element and a sexy couple, you should be reading this series. I suggest you start with the first book, since you need to see the growth of Clare, Zach and Enzo. You can never go wrong with anything written by Robin Owens.
