The only reason I am reviewing this book is because I couldn't believe that something so badly written could get published. I picked up the book as something fun to read while on vacation but I wish I chose something else. I found myself correcting the grammar as I went along. The story was so convuluted by the number of characters to keep track. Somehow you are supposed to care about them when you can't keep them straight? Also there were portions that seemed more like "How I Do It" of being a psychic rather than story. Overall poorly written, poorly edited, and ridiculous. I expected something much better

Victoria Laurie hits another homerun with Ghouls Just Haunt To HAve Fun. M.J. Holliday and the gang take you on a wild adventure in ghoustbusting. This book will not disapoint for the true Victoria Lauire fan or antyone looking for a good read. Escape into another world for a short time and see what life would be like busting ghouls and helping grounded spirits crossover. A must read.

Her instinct told her to just say no, but in spite of being a medium M.J. Holliday ignores the internal warning that acquiescing to her business partner Gilley Gillespie¿s idea of appearing on a Bravo TV show is a loser. Instead she agrees to join a panel with three of her paranormal peers. The two partners accompanied by the medium¿s significant other travel to Dr. Steven Sable for the TV appearance.

When they reach the Drake Hotel, the trio learns that a woman fell from the edifice. M.J. consults with the victim and informs the cops she was murdered. Soon afterward, she meets the rest of the TV panel and concludes two of her so-called peers, Angelica DeMarche and Bernard Higgins, are fakes. However, she and the other legit member Heath Whitefeather from the Land of Enchantment soon find themselves battling a paranormal malevolent who haunts the Drake.

The latest ¿Ghost Hunter¿ mystery (see DEMONS ARE A GHOUL'S BEST FRIEND) is a lighthearted humorous haunted hotel horror thriller kept focused by ¿graveyard¿ serious M.J. and in this case Heath. The rest of the cast except for the evil haunter bring either amusement or eeriness; especially fun is when the two fake California psychics encounter their first real paranormal. Fans will enjoy the supernatural murder investigation as GHOULS JUST HAUNT TO HAVE FUN lives up to its title.

What can I say, I loved this book. I admit Gilly gets on my nerves and when he duped MJ into a haunted possession show, I probably would have thrown him out on his ear. That being said he grew on me toward the end. This book is action packed from the day they arrive at the hotel it doesn't stop. We get murder, a ghost, more ghosts, and a demon, plenty to keep things going. I love MJ with her strong attitude but with the human parts that get scared like everybody else. I liked Det. MacDonald, skeptical but he did keep an open mind and listened instead of jumping to conclusions, I wish that he could stay in this series. The mystery was good and kept me guessing until the end with plenty of twists. I will definitely continue on with this series.

What kind of blurb is that??!! It just doesn't say much does it.....well let me tell you! M.J. is roped into taking a job in San Francisco where she will be doing readings on items that people think are haunted or possessed. The kicker is she will be filmed with an audience and working with three other psychics. The one thing I didn't mention is how Gilley, M.J.'s best friend, signed her up for it without asking her first!! After a lot of yelling and arm twisting, M.J. finally comes to terms with having to do this job, even though she has never heard of any of these "psychics" that the show has procured. So, we are off to a great start, right? LOL! Poor M.J. Man, was she pissed at Gilley, and so was I!! Gosh, Gilley even talked to Steven, aka Dr. Delicious, about it first, wth? To dig the hole even deeper, the show's producer, Gopher, has arranged for the filming to take place at one of the most haunted hotels in America, The Duke, as well as being their accomodations, bahahaha.........ooooh, Gilley is dead meat! When the trio arrives at the Duke, M.J. is already slapped in the face with her first ghost bust/crossover job. The woman can't even check in without being bombarded! This is how she is introduced to Detective Ayden MacDonald. He turns out to be very open minded about M.J. abilities, and a crucial asset in the end. After Gilley and Steven get them all checked in, M.J. is off to a Meet 'n Greet with the show's producer and other psychics that will be on the show. The intros to the others were not good, as she meets Angelica DeMarche, Bernard Higgins and Heath Whitefeather. They are discussing the woman M.J. encountered when arriving at the hotel and how she came to her untimely death. M.J. knew right off the bat that Angelica and Bernard were phonies. Heath seemed to be the only true psychic amongst them, along with M.J., and she was hoping to not get paired with the other two during filming. The story takes on a whole new life when a dagger appears on the table during filming with no one to claim it. The whole atmosphere turns sour, and the true ghost busting begins! Let me just say how utterly upset I was with Gilley! He basically forced M.J.'s hand to take this job, and she was really against it! Then for him to NOT get it when she tried to explain to him how bad this could end up for her and their business! I was just screaming in my head, DENSE MUCH? Why aren't you understanding her!! This feeling of angst between them went on for most of the book, pretty much every time something horrible happened. Gilley was totally at fault, and he did not deserve any slack about it! I truly hope that he learned his lesson and doesn't pull this stunt again in future books, or he will permanently stay on my black list! Then, there is poor Steven. He only wants to help the business, but he's also torn with wanting M.J. to be safe, so he does see both sides, and right when things get dangerous, he has to go back to Boston for a lecture he is scheduled for. This little trip was only supposed to be over a weekend and turned into a week-long nightmare. Heath and M.J. team up with Gil and Gopher to ghost bust the whole damn hotel and to face the most dangerous entity any of them has ever encountered! The in-depth story behind it all was such jaw-dropping genius that I never saw things coming, and it had me on edge until the end! M.J. always has something new and scary she discovers, and that it is what keeps me going with this series. Not once in the four books that I've read so far have I felt, oh, we been there, done that! This book opens up a whole new chapter for M.J., and I can't wait to get started with her on the next one :)

The third novel in Victoria Laurie's Ghost Hunter series is another good one, although, not as good as the first two. I thoroughly enjoyed the haunted hotel aspect of this novel and the demon enemy that M.J. and her gang had to fight will remain one of my favorites. Although I'm not a huge fan of the new Ghoul Getters plot introduced at the end I think that it will make for some interesting plotlines in the future. The one part of this novel that for me makes it only four stars is the removal of Steven aka Dr. Delicious. Thankfully, the always entertaining Gilley Gillespie is there to make things better.

I am a HUGE fan of Victoria Laurie! I read her other series on a whim recently and enjoyed them so much I had to get this one too! Her characters are so much fun and make for a very enjoyable read. The plots are very thought out, but fun and funny at the same time. They are easy reads that are truely fantastic. Thank you for these books Victoria and I hope you continue to write more!!
