"the gift of rest" is a very special book. many people who are people of great faiths try to observe the 10 commandments espically keeping the sabbath to keep it holy but so many things seem to get in the way. senator lieberman shares his inner faith and gives some intresting key insights about the benefits of keeping the sabbath holy and how it can make a difference in your life and what a gift it has been to him . this is a great gift idea for a friend or family member and it can deepen ones spirituel life.

I just started reading this book and find it highly entertaining and thoughtful. I am considering Judiasm and this is helping me understand the rituals and the meaning behind them. Really suggest this for anyone, no matter what their religious preference may be.

This is not only a fascinating look into the world of Lieberman and Orthodox Judaism but also a lesson for everyone about our need for down time in this too-busy world in which we live. We were all created to rest on the seventh day, whenever that falls on your calendar!

In a world of overcommitments and time out of control this book is about sanity and how to achieve it. Not be necessarily doing less, but by just taking one day a week to do nothing. Although I'm not Jewish I felt very inspired by this Jewish tradition. It can easily be moved 24 hours to Sunday.
