About the Author

Jeroen Steenbeeke (1983) is a fantasy writer from the Netherlands, and has been creating fantasy stories since the early nineties. Despite several attempts to write novels since then, it wasn't until 2011 that he released his first novel Gift of the Destroyer.

During the day, Jeroen works as a Software Engineer, creating web applications for schools. In addition to writing he often spends his free time playing video games, working on his Warhammer 40K army and reading.

At night, Jeroen fights aliens, the Borg, goblins and carnivorous soup. You can read all about these dreams in his latest work The Troll Warriors of Sheepbane.

I highly enjoyed this book and found it an easy read. Though not the most original book, i have not enjoyed a book in quite a while as much as this one. Highly recommend it to lovers of fantasy as a weekend read.

3 stars the book was okay a little slow in several areas. Interestings story line and characters were well developed, but it just did not hold my interest. I keep putting the book down normally I finish a book this size in one day this took me several. I can recommend the book for its different concept and it is well written only a few typo hardly notice them. But i cant recommend the series, for my not going to read them.

Approximately 188 nook pages, but the space between the lines is less than normal, so it is actually longer. Great Sci-fi and very interesting characters and concept. Enjoyed it very much. Thank you Author.

The characters weren't exactly believable. I mean, her fiance is killed early on but she still goes on a quest with the guy that did it? Story line was interesting but just didn't develop enough for me to bother reading the next one. The ending seemed rushed and to me and anti-climatic. I read quite a bit of fantasy novels and while this book wasn't great, it was a short read (247 pages) and at least I didn't have too much time tied up in it.

Good storyline, but stilted and repetitive language got in the way of enjoying this fully. Won't be reading the rest of the series.

This series was so fun to read! Highly recommended for anyone who loves magic and adventure. I loved all 3 books but the first was my favorite. The author creates great characters that you really get involved with. And unlike most magic action/adventure books I've read, he doesn't bore you with pages upon pages of describing scenery as filler. Just a really fun, enjoyable read.

I thought this book was very original and had many things of interest in it. I would like to know more about the earlier civilizations in a later series maybe? I went looking for other books by this author and found them, but there was no overview or any information on these books at all. I am a little hesitant to spend money on an unknown quantity. I know this isn't about this story, but I already said I loved the book. LOL
