Tora can’t wait to sell the family bakery run by generations of Hammond women and seek excitement outside of Dorado, Texas. She's continued the tradition out of love but now that her mother and grandmother have relocated to Arizona for Gram's health, Tora thinks the time has come for her to spread her wings.
Widower Jordan Dawson, the town’s star quarterback from a decade ago, returns to his hometown with plans to develop a sporting goods store. He also hopes experiencing a small town Christmas will cheer up his five-year-old daughter, Jenna, still recovering from the loss of her mother.
Will the spark of interest Tora sees in Jordan’s eyes be the excitement she’s looking for?

MAYBE WISHES REALLY DO COME TRUE I enjoyed this cute holiday book with its delightful characters. The plot kept me captivated and the pages turning. The dialog was sweet and heartwarming. You could feel the emotions of Tora Hammond as she tries to decide what she really wants to do in her life. Selling the bakery isn’t an easy decision, and the long hours had really prevented her from having a personal life, going to college, dating, etc. Now with Grams and Mom in Arizona, she feels all alone, maybe it’s time to move to a big city. Widower Jordan Dawson and his daughter Jenna move back to town seeking the comforts of his small hometown. Can Jordan and his campaign give him a chance with Tora? For Tora to have the biggest adventure of her life does it mean leaving or has that adventure come to her?
