Girl Perfect: An Imperfect Girl's Journey to True Perfection (Confessions of a Former Runway Model) by Jennifer Strickland

Discover the Freedom to be the Girl God Made

At the age of eight, Jennifer Strickland entered the world of modeling, beginning a journey that took her to the runways of Milan. On the outside, she seemed to have it all: walking the runway for Giorgio Armani, commercials for companies from Oil of Olay to Mercedes Benz, worldwide attention, and all the glamour that comes with the fashion industry. But she quickly discovered that this world is not all glitter and gold...

Girl Perfect is the haunting story of Jennifer’s journey from fashion to faith. Within these pages you will get an inside look at the industry and you will find a girl who struggled just as you do. The principles of true beauty she shares will shatter the illusion that beauty and success satisfy, leading you to the powerful, lasting knowledge of who you are in God’s sight: his beloved daughter, handcrafted to reflect His glory to the world.

I have the book in paper back and she signed it. I am really shocked about everything she went through. I met her at Districs youth conference up in green bay, wisconsin. It's amazing how she remembered all this enough to put it in a book. I honestly think that every girl should read it, because it showed me that I'm perfect the way I am.

Girl Perfect is a TRULY inspirational true story of a young model who has it all (Jen) but all she wants to do is escape the scary streets of the unknown cities she's sent to. Jen lays it ALL out there for us to devour, and I could truly feel all the emotions she went through on her journey to Christianity. I personally enjoyed the fact that she came into the Church with very little spiritual background and look where she is now, closer than ever to the Lord and teaching the Word to girls all over. I would definitely say that EVERY woman/girl (Middle school and up is most suitable) should read this book. I recommend the accompanying Devotional of the same name as well, for both together give you a better outlook on your life and bring you closer to God.
