Readers were first introduced to Annabelle in Leslie Margolis' novel BOYS ARE DOGS. After training the boys at school and her puppy, Pepper, Annabelle is back and as strong-willed as ever! She's adjusted to her new school and life with her mom's boyfriend, Ted. She's found some cool friends, too. Things take a sharp turn when her mom and Ted decide to get married. Her future stepbrother, Jason, is coming for a visit. To make matters even worse, Jason becomes Pepper's new favorite friend! At least she's got her friends to get her through: or does she? The girls in the popular crowd take notice of Annabelle. Taylor seems to be the leader and knows just how to rope everyone in to her ways. Annabelle has to decide whether to join this clique or stick with her old buddies. What's a girl to do? GIRLS ACTING CATTY doesn't disappoint. I was hoping this sequel would live up to my expectations, and it did! Annabelle is facing many choices and challenges while on the brink of becoming a teenager. This book will definitely leave the reader ready and waiting for Annabelle's next adventure.

Great book for middle school students! This book is great for kids in middle school to read. It shows a way for kids to handle bullying. For example, in the text, Taylor turned Annabelle’s friends on her. A few days after, Taylor told Annabelle that she could hang out with them since she had no friends. Annabelle said no thanks and walked away. This shows that if someone is bullying you, you could easily just walk away.  Also, it’s not a great choice for parents, but they could read it, if they want to know a little bit more about middle schoolers in this generation. It shows a life about a middle school girl, just dealing with everyday activities. For example, in the text it shows Annabelle doing her everyday activities like going to school, dealing with other middle school students, dealing with teachers etc. It even also shows how a middle school student would react to bullies. For example, it shows how Annabelle reacted to Taylor bullying her by saying no. Finally, it shows how friends are important. For example it shows in the text, when Emma was getting bullied by Taylor and her friends, Annabelle, Rachal, and, Yumi was there to make her feel better by saying bad things about Taylor.  This is why this book is great for middle schoolers.
