Girl's Best Friend (Maggie Brooklyn Mystery Series #1) by Leslie Margolis

Dogs are disappearing in her neighborhood, and Maggie Brooklyn Sinclair knows all about it. After all, she has a semi-secret after-school gig as a professional (ok, amateur) dog-walker. Maggie hates to see a pup in trouble, so she's even willing to help her ex-best friend Ivy recover her rescue-dog, Kermit. Kermit's being held for ransom, and Maggie has noticed some suspicious behavior lately. But she never suspected her crush Milo could be involved . . .

Leslie Margolis's pitch-perfect voice and rich characters have endeared her to tweens, and her fans will flock to this hip new series featuring a clever and lovable new heroine, Maggie Brooklyn.

Okay, i have read so many good books but this one tops the charts. It is about a girl named maggie who is suddenly trapped in the middle of an intriguing case. The dogs in the city are disappearing one at a time. Trust me you have to read it. At first maggie thinks that her adorable crush milo is the culprit. Then she has second thoughts. I loved this book. it is amazing and if you like suspensful mysteries then you will to. I have only one more thing to say. BUY IT. And trust me, its not who you think it is at first.

This book is super cute. I've really started to fall in love with middle grade mysteries. The mystery starts right at the beginning and kept me guessing. I really didn't know who the crook was until the end. There are several mysteries all wrapped up together and happening at the same time. This would be confusing, but the author does a great job of keeping everything straight. Plus, it gives the story a little extra something because you have to figure out which mystery each clue is relevant to. It was a pretty fun read that middle grade children will enjoy.

Somebody wrote a review that this was for ages 6 and up. That is SO not true. I bet they didn't even read it seeing as that remark was followed by "I bet." This book is amazing and I highly recommend it. I am anxiously awaiting a sequel from Leslie Margolis. It was very well written. I liked that Maggie was like me! This book is probably good for girls ages 10 and up. You should definitely read it!!!!

This book is the first of a new series. It lloks like the series will be a winner. I like the premise of a girl who walks the neighborhood dogs to earn a little extra money for things she wants.
