Robyn Goodmark, aka Sprout is co-founder and member of Northern State, a female-fronted hip-hop band whose latest album, Can I Keep This Pen?, was released on Ipecac Recordings. Reviews of their albums have appeared in Entertainment Weekly, the Village Voice, the Onion, Rolling Stone, and Spin magazine. Robyn also teaches early childhood literacy through music, dance, and art in the New York City Public School System.
