I have been a huge fan of Johanna Lindsey's books for a few years now and I have them all. This book though i'd have to say is her worst. There is no chemistry at all between Brad and Angela. The only person in this novel I liked was Hank and I was hoping something would happen between him and Angela. Overall the book was bland with unmemorable characters. Any of JL's other books are better than this one!

This book was a flop, the love scenes were great but the overall story was a flop - both the hero and heroine were very childish/immature. It seemed like Ms. Lindsey was rushing this book, and the romance was such a turn off. I love Johanna Lindsey but this was one of my least favorite.

This is a very light read for me, especially one that's of Johanna Lindsey's work. The plot is quite simple; The twists are mostly predictable; The conflicts are a bit too easy; The characters are a bit unpolished; but I considered the fact that this is one of Ms. Lindsey's earlier works that is why I wasn't totally turned off. I also don't think this book merits lower than 3 stars because i was able to finish this book in less than 5 hours. I guess, u can say that overall, it is an easy and a light read. Yes, there is no topsy-turvy or overwhelming heart effects here yet I can't say it's boring either... I've read lots of Ms. Lindsey's recent works and she is definitely much improved today as a writer/story teller. So, if you are a first time Lindsey reader then I suggest you start with her latter works.

I've read alot of Johanna's books and I'm hooked on them. However, I did not care for this one - it didn't have the spark and chemistry of the others.

I think this book was ok. I've read almost all of her books and this one was "kinda different" being more south (US), theres also a little bit of interesting history in it. Its not one of my favorites, but it wasnt bad at all. I didnt love the characters, I thought Bradford was just a little too "crazy" when he got mad. I love JL and understand that she cannot make all the heros be the same prince on a white horse fairy tale. She gives variety and I like that. The book definitely kept me curious!!
