With an MBA and a law degree from Pepperdine University, Jay Milbrandt had the world at his feet. But rather than following his peers into big firms with high profile clients and even higher salaries, Jay has chosen a completely different roada journey that has led him across large portions of the globe to “go and do likewise,” as Jesus modeled and instructed in His life on this earth. In his efforts to bring justice and healing to people all around the world, Jay’s pursuit of justice has become an adventure far greater than he could have ever dreamed or imagined.
As Christians, we are called to take a step of faith for Christ, to change ourselves, and perhaps by doing that, to change those we encounter along the way. Go and Do is an invitation for all of us to join in the adventure of God’s story arc. It is an opportunity to understand why so many are finding such satisfaction and joy in reaching out to others. It is a chance to climb on board and discover exactly what role each of us can play in actively engaging this world as we, too, “go and do.”

Go and Do by Jay Milbrandt is part missionary story and part life lesson. I really enjoyed reading about his adventure in missions and found the stories of the people inspiring. The other big part of the book is answering the big question of what is our purpose in life. He answers it with "Go and Do". Go and do something with it, make it count, do something different. What I did not like was it felt like the reason behind it was to be become a better person, but in all reality its more about doing it because it is what God commands of us. He commands that we go and make disciples for Him. The writing of the book was good and it flowed well and there where still some great parts of it, just a book that I think needs to be read with discernment. * I received this book through Netgalley for the purpose of this review.
Have you ever sat and wondered what you were really created to do? Well then you must read Go + Do by Jay Milbrandt. The author went to law school and then decided he didn't just want to be a lawyer, he wanted to have a purpose and calling for his life. He encourages individuals to take a step of faith and listen to the Holy Spirit. Milbrandt has a heart for people overseas and shares stories from his adventures working with people from different walks of life. My favorite part of the book was that the author challenges his readers to try the impossible. God can do the impossible and not to just keep your life in a little box. There are many directions in life, but following the prompting of the Holy Spirit is the most rewarding. Milbrandt explains that many people experience a burnout after just working a job for so long without a greater purpose. He states that is why it is important to find a greater purpose in your life. Overall this book was inspirational and encouraging. I was given this book by Tyndale House Publishing in exchange for an honest review.
