"This book is my attempt to answer this "Which God?" question by looking at three aspects: God's name, the concept of His power and greatness, and the manner in which He has revealed Himself to man. The focus is on the three world religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) that I am closely acquainted with and which are unified in believing in only one God, and in boldly declaring that His nature is one of inconceivable power, authority, and majesty. Any one name is insufficient for man to describe Him and evidence of this can be seen in Islam's attempt to give Him ninety-nine names, and in the fact that the Jewish and Christian scriptures contain many names that even God, Himself, gave His followers in order to widen their understanding.
Since names and concepts can only go so far, God has expanded revelation about Himself through His acts and relationships with man throughout history. The reader is encouraged to initiate a personal encounter with God just as Moses' people personally experienced His providential presence and deliverance starting with their frightening experience of escape from slavery in Egypt. May God Almighty give all honest seekers courage to start their journey with the confidence that He will be guiding each step of the way through the hard places in the desert with the promise that their thirst will ultimately be quenched.
