God of All Creation: Life Lessons from Pets and Wildlife by James Robison

“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”
—MATTHEW 6:26

God of All Creation recounts how a miniature dachshund taught her owner, James Robison, profound insights about life, faith, and God’s care for all of His creation. A devoted dog lover and co-host of the television program Life Today, James shares how the antics of his own dog, Princess, as well as observations from all animals in creation, reveal “expressions of God’s love, lessons of His grace, warnings about sin, and other eternal truths.”

Heart-warming stories and winsome line drawings bring to life the lessons James has learned from his pets and creatures living in the wild. And through his inspiration and spiritual insights, you, too, will learn to know God’s voice, to submit to Him, and to trust Him with your every need.

“I love that James did this book!” —BETH MOORE

“You are about to read some poignant lessons we can learn from pets and all creatures—a clear revelation of the love God has for each of us. I share what I’ve learned as I’ve watched, held, and loved our little Princess and as I’ve watched wild animals in nature. Only a God who truly loves us as individuals could bless us with such treasured moments with our pets and wildlife, if we will just take notice…

“A friend once said, ‘If you can’t see God in everything, you won’t see God in anything.’ In this book we will explore…eternal truths as we consider our pets and other awesome residents of God’s vast creation.”
—JAMES ROBISON

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” —MATTHEW 6:26 God of All Creation recounts how a miniature dachshund taught her owner, James Robison, profound insights about life, faith, and God’s care for all of His creation. A devoted dog lover and co-host of the television program Life Today, James Robison, shares how the antics of his own dog Princess gave inspiration for this story. Heart-warming stories and winsome line drawings bring to life the lessons Robison has learned. Through his inspiration and spiritual insights; from his pets and creatures living in the wild, you too, will learn to know God’s voice, to submit to Him, and to trust Him with your every need. Written in an easy to read style, the book contains many scripture verses and explanations of God's provision for the animals of His creation. The stories that he shares in this book are both entertaining and educational. James Robison manages to open a window that allows us to view a Heavenly Father who has created all living things for our enjoyment and enrichment. Robison uses his pet, Princess, to show the necessity to follow the Master's voice to avoid danger of this life. I would recommend this gift size, hardback book for any animal lover and anyone who enjoys heart-warming stories of people and their pets. I received this book from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing in their Blogging for Books program for this review.

God of all Creation by James Robison is the story of his dog Princess. Princess has taught him a lot about faith. It is a short book of only 160 pages and is rather small in size. I was able to read it in two settings. The reason for the two settings is that I sort saved it for the last few days of doctors office waiting rooms as I waited. In the book James Robison talks of getting a dachshund from the local feed store and how she taught him about faith. He talks of how she has a natural tendency to hunt and how it is up to him to call out to her to help her and keep her safe and how it is just he and his wife Betty she will listen to when called to stop because she recognizes their voices. He then compares humans to hearing God’s voice and recognizing it. This is just one example of many more lessons he learned from his Princess. There are several grate Bible verses he references. It is a light read that will make you stop the think about God .It will make you look at your pet in a different light. This book is perfect for animal lovers. I give this book my three star rating. I did receive this book from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishers for my honest review the opinions are my own.

James Robison showed me that there truly is an acceptable way to see the parallels of Truth in those treasured moments with my schnauzers when he quotes his friend, “If you can’t see God in everything, you won’t see God in anything.” In his book God of All Creation: Life Lessons from Pets and Wildlife, Robison shares poignant stories of his little Princess, a devoted dachshund who is always reminding him of eternal truths and giving illustration to the clear revelation of God’s love for us. He sprinkles in other stories of wildlife to show how God would have us relate with each other and give us perspective as we live out each day to its fullness for His glory. The devotional-style book contains 28 short chapters of light reading with easy-to -grasp theological truths expressed in a simple manner. While Robison’s writing style tends to lean toward being a bit preachy in parts of the book, this book is a delightful read. Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this book from Waterbrook Press in exchange for my honest review.

"God of All Creation" by James Robison with James Randall Robison is a book dedicated to lessons that Robison has learned through observing animals. James Robison shares with us some of his memories and stories - mostly of his dog, Princess, and then he takes these examples and relates them to our relationship with God. In the same ways that Princess is obedient to her master, and the relationship between her and her owner, Robison draws parallels between our relationship with God. This book is relatively short, and the chapters themselves are only 3-4 pages each, so this could easily be read as a devotional style book. The stories of Princess and the Robison family are entertaining, but also relevant to the message that James is sharing, and the parallel that he draws. I thought this book was well written, with thoughtful insights and great stories. I would recommend this book to the animal lover, as the stories are centered around wildlife.
