Implementing these strategies helped many. 50 to 60% of those who are hospitalized for depression require repeat hospitalization according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual IV. In contrast, the rate of patients following these strategies requiring further or additional hospitalization has been only 4.43% in the Total Life Counseling Partial Day Psychiatric Hospitalization program.
