About the Author

Pam Gardiner grew up in the midwest at the beginning of the Baby Boom. She decided early on that she wanted to help others with their personal development. A second cycle of study, aimed in the direction of an academic career, also stopped short of its goal.

A series of serendipitous events led eventually to an unexpected long-term career with the United States Forest Service. The opportunity to coach senior leadership candidates in the agency rekindled her early passion for helping others grow.

After retiring from federal service, Gardiner started a life coaching practice She also began to write "Reflections," a weekly email exploring personal growth topics. The book, "Going Deeper," draws 100 favorite reflections from more than 250 written during its first five years.

Gardiner also volunteers for her local running club. She has coached a marathon training class and founded the Back of the Pack, a program for slower runners and walkers in the club.

Pam Gardiner and her husband, Lyle Geurts, live in Missoula, Montana. Their son and his wife, Jonathan and Jennie Geurts, live in Colorado.
