Overview

Karin Gustafson's first book of poetry moves across a wide emotional and formal range, from playfulness to nostalgia, villanelle to free verse. The poems, evocatively illustrated by Diana Barco, are "reminders that nights sown by fireflies" are "going on somewhere, sometime."

About the Author

Karin Gustafson lives mainly in New York City, where she divides her time between practicing law, writing poetry and fiction, and drawing little pictures (often of elephants). She has previously written and illustrated 1 MISSISSIPPI, a children's counting book for lovers of light and pachyderms, and regularly updates her ManicDdaily blog at wordpress.com.

Diana Barco (interior illustrations) lives in Bogotá, Colombia, where she is an artist, architect, and social activist, working primarily in the fields of sexual and reproductive health and rights. She is also founding member of the Rogelio Salmona Foundation.

Jason Martin (front cover art) lives in the Catskill Mountains in upstate New York, where he paints, hikes, skis, makes light sculptures, and really enjoys the view.
