I liked the part where Aidan was sketching the butterfly.

I read this series years ago and loved all of them! I lost the books and was thrilled to find them again.

This story is real life in the details. Not everything we face is neat or pretty and this book deals with the precious Grace of God for those reaching out from the `other side of the tracks'. Ms. Hunt wove a great tale of redemption with true to life characters that you can't put down! She definitely did her homework for the historical details of lifetstyles in this era. You can't miss with this series.

The Golden Cross is the second in a series. I read the first book, The Silver Sword a last summer. The Golden Cross is somewhat of a standalone story, but is woven together by the girl who tells it. She is a descendant of Cahira O'Connor and tells the story of courageous woman in her family line. Aiden, the star of this story, is an artist, who gets a chance to learn, but it comes at a price. I really like hearing about girls who are brave and bold and are not afraid to get out of their comfort zone and Aiden is just that type of girl.

This book was probably my favorite of all of the Heirs of Cahira O'Connor books! It was incredible! A must read! About a bold girl, daring to dream of becoming an artist and finding a kind husband, despite her terrible circumstance of being the daughter of a procuress in Batavia.
