Incredibly well photographed, written and designed. Strong tugs at the heart strings, bringing back memories of pets loved and lost.

The beautiful sadness that comes from this well-written read has surpassed any other book that i've come across. The photo process is some of the best i've ever seen and you can see the time, energy & dedication that was put into this piece of art. It gave me goosebumps, & that's the good kind! Highly recommended.

Be sure to have plenty of kleenex with you when you read this touching and sentimental book about people's beloved pets.

I was first attracted to this book by the beautiful photographs of intensely colored image transfers. Then after reading personal submissions about the loved and lost pets of our lives, I immediately recalled all the pets that have enriched my own life since childhood and how much they have meant to me. Anyone who has ever known the joy of a loving pet relationship will surely appreciate this delicate and beautiful book.

If you've ever lost a pet, this book is a welcome addition to your home. But it's also a great collection of photographic images. The images are mostly Polaroid image transfer process and are beautifully reproduced. The text enhances the photos and my 5 star rating is based on the excellent overall package this book provides.

Sometimes beauty and poignancy can come from the most unusal places, and this wonderful book is an excellent example. Insightful photographs, touching stories and elegant page design make this book a keepsake for anyone who has lost a pet but who yearns for something more than the usual how-to book on coping with that loss. It's a book that can be opened to any page for inspiration and comfort. And most of all, it can inspire us to take in even more pets in the future, knowing that the pain we suffered from our loss was directly related to the love we gave and received, and that the companionship is worth it--recognizing that the end is a natural part of the who

Three years ago in Los Angeles, saw an exhibition of Michele's cemetery photography and have been a fan ever since. Can't describe how seeing her photos make me feel, but I always come away deafened by overwhelming silence. Like watching a series of real-life images accompanied by a LOUD 'silence' soundtrack...where turning up the volume means intensifying the silence and the stillness, which is what happens when a human or animal dies. Knowing what I know about Michele's insight and artistry, and her one-of-a-kind photography, GOOD-BYE MY FRIEND has a ready-made place in my home library once it hits the bookstores.

I first saw an excerpted collection of these photographs at a gallery show of Ms. Lanci-Altomare. I found both the photographic processes and approach to subject matter to be a previously unexplored angle on a very fundamental instinct of human nature. We love our pets, but their lifespans are short, and there comes a time when we have to find them a final resting place. For many of us, our pets are like family members, and the homage that we pay them is not unlike that we would prepare for a lost child. The images that Michele creates put the viewer in a quiet moment with the actual site, while catalyzing an empathy for the anonymous pet owner. Her choices of photographic processing evoke a sublime space between the physical and spirit world which removes the viewer from sadness into a place of contemplative reflection and reverence. When I saw this gallery exhibit, the first thing that came to mind was that I wished I could have a collection of these images to peruse and show to my friends and family. I am very excited to find that I can now share what I saw and felt with others, as well as have a collection for myself.
