The best version of Good News Bible was the first edition. It was not a paraphrase like many people think but a precise translation in modern easily understood English. Then in 1992 there came the 2nd edition. They added politically correct gender neutral language there - like sons of God were changed into children of God, mankind was changed into human beings, etc. Then 3d edition oversimplified this Bible making it suitable for 4th grade reading level. It would be helpful if Barnes&Noble would list the publication date visible next to the picture of each Bible to save time for potential buyers who otherwise forced to go each time into product details. I am looking for Good News Bible Today's English Version with full text including apocrypha or Catholic edition published before 1992. This Bible is edited with politically correct language and lacks apocrypha..
