This disc is a peek into the Swan Silvertone's recording career with King records in the 40's. The packaging is poor, the sound quality okay considering the timeframe, but despite these setbacks, the performances here are awesome. The silvertones had a predominantly jubilee style about them in the beginning of their recording career, and evidences of Golden Gate Quartet influences do abound. The arrangements are stellar, and the addition of a nylon string guitar being played on five of these eight songs makes a simple yet great accompaniment to the top notch singing here. A very high recommendation on this one.
