Overview

Grace – A Poetic Journey is my adventure beyond fear, into foreign lands, among people of diverse cultures. It’s my adventure of breaking out of the lost-child shell that encased me, into the adult my soul longed to be. I felt misplaced in the world, but inspired by unexpected lessons and interactions, I developed a deep trust in synchronicity and inner strength. It’s my story of opening followed by resistance, longing followed by disappointment, excitement followed by dissatisfaction. An adventure into ancient teachings and modern techniques. Was I called or forced into the aliveness and fulfillment of Grace?

Beautifully written, very entertaining! The true story of a young woman's search for adventure, understanding and meaning in life. So few of us have the courage to travel alone through distant lands, dig deep into all of our fears and emotional baggage and seek out true adventure in life...It is a joy to read of another persons journey.

This thoroughly enjoyable memoir of a young woman's journey through Thailand (and, ultimately, back again to herself) is poetic, poignant, honest, and often very funny. The author delights us with her descriptions of people and food and the realities of travel in a foreign land--where she is always looking to connect with the wonder of the moment: in a Buddhist temple, on a bus ride to the border for a visa stamp, or during a harrowing scooter ride up a steep mountain. Here the reader can discover the twists and turns of traveling through exotic lands and cultures--where deep compassion can arise out of chance encounter, where Insight can follow on the heels of disappointment--all through the eyes of a woman longing to seeing grace everywhere. Highly recommended.

I could not put this book down! It was fascinating to read! So brave to take a journey as author did and have no clue where she would live or eat from day-to-day. Things that we take for granted. It made me want to go back 30 years and try it myself. On second thought, it was much safer physically and mentally reading this beautiful story.

This book is a highly entertaining autobiographical account of a young woman trying to find her place in the world as she travels through Thailand. Equal parts travel adventure and soul searching, I found myself staying up late to see what would happen next. Meagan's writing has a distinctive style that is charming and easily to relate to, and by the end you'll feel like she's a friend of yours. Very highly recommended
