Overview

Grail (Pendragon Cycle Series #5) by Stephen R. Lawhead, Stephen R. Lawhead

A great king faces the ultimate challenge: a dangerous quest through realms of magic and the undead toward a confrontation with his destiny

Drought, plague, and war have left the Isle of the Mighty battered and its heart, the beloved Arthur, grievously injured—until a secret relic is brought before the dying King; a Holy Grail that heals his wounds and restores his vigor.

But soon evil enters the royal court in the guise of a beautiful maiden; a soulless, malevolent force capable of seducing the King’s loyal champion, confounding the sage whom some call Merlin, and carrying the sacred Grail—and Arthur’s adored Queen—off into the dark unknown.

GRAIL

“Suspenseful . . . soulful, philosophical . . . engagingly drawn . . . Arthurian Britain is invoked with robust verisimilitude.” –Publishers Weekly

This is a truely action packed book. All the evil on the Island of the Mighty is destroyed once and for all. Or is it? No. Avalon ends the story perfectly. But I don't like all the cursing in Avalon.

My mom bought this book because she said that it looked interesting, at first I was skeptical about reading it and I brought it on a trip with me and I am so glad I did!! I read the book a total of three times just on one small trip. This book has so much adventure that is almost overwhelming, you are eagerly anticipating what will happen and I guarantee you will love it:-) It has treachery which will totally surprise and also amaze you at the powers that he portrays in his graphic writings. The way he explains even the simplest of things make you believe you are there riding along on horseback in the middle of the forest or next to the stream. He describes not only sights and sounds but smell and taste also, so you can smell the fire and taste the pig roasting. I loved it!!!!!

I felt that this novel felt a bit short of the others in this series, but it's still a marvelous story!  On to Book 6!

"Nothing. I'm hungry." She wandered down to the large kitchen and got a bowl down putting strawberries in it and gets another small bowl putting sugar in it and sits on a stool
