About the Author

Marcy Kennedy is a speculative fiction and suspense writer who believes fantasy is more real than you think. It helps us see life in this world in a new way and gives us a safe place to explore problems that might otherwise be too difficult to face. Alongside her own writing, Marcy works as a freelance editor and teaches classes on craft and social media through WANA International. She's also a proud Canadian; the proud wife of a former U.S. Marine; owns five cats, two birds, and a dog who weighs as much as she does; and plays board games and the flute (not at the same time). Sadly, she's also addicted to coffee and jelly beans. You can find her blogging about writing and about the place where real life meets science fiction, fantasy, and myth on her website.

I've been struggling to learn how to write and edit grammar for fiction for a year or two- mostly by piecing together google searches and remembered high school knowledge. This clarifies a lot of rules, especially differences in the formal, paper-writing stuff you learn in school, and honest-to-goodness fiction writing.
