Carman has worn out more towns and last names than impractical shoes protecting the secret of her magic blood. But when a friend goes missing, and another is infected with a deadly spell, Carman must choose. Expose her magic blood by curing the spell--or stop the infection from spreading by killing the source...the grandmother.

Magic bounty hunter Dylan has scoured libraries of banned magic paraphernalia seeking a method to distinguish genuine witches from impersonators. He suspects unorthodox librarian Carman might hold this information tighter than the hair he's dying to unleash from her bun. With a past as hidden as his sleeve of tattoos, Dylan discovers he's been used to gain Carman's trust and their passion risks more than mixing mortals and magic.

The title of this book caught my attention, and the story didn't disappoint. Dylan is a hunky guy and when he meets Carman there are fantastic sparks. The author weaved a tale that kept my interest. I don't usually read stories with magic in them, but this one was a lot of fun

I'll be honest, I almost put this book in the can't finish pile but I stuck with it & it turned out to be a fun read. The premise of the book was unique & exciting and the characters were interesting. I loved Carmen- she was feisty & the way she flirted/teased made me laugh. I look forward to reading more in the series. ARC provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Grandma Must Die by Maureen L. Bonatch was an unusual paranormal mystery because it is set in a time when being a witch is considered a very bad thing and can get you arrested and thrown in jail forever or worse. The characters are complex and quirky; and the setting of a small town in Pennsylvania with the town citizens prejudiced against witches made for a story that had a lot of twists and turns. There was also some humor and a smoking romance that developed between Carman, a witch, and Dylan, a mortal and a magic bounty hunter. The secondary characters, Ellie, Anthony, Julia and John/Michael provided a lot of detail and many of the twists to the story. I had to keep turning the pages to find out what would happen next to Carman and her family and friends. I was given an ARC from the publisher Wild Rose Press/Backlit PR via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

You’ll Believe in Magic With a title like Grandma Must Die, I knew I had to read this book. I love the use of humor in writing and this book doesn’t disappoint. Carman is not your ordinary librarian. Sparks fly between Carman and Dylan and I enjoyed the chemistry when they got together. Grandma Must Die is a fun, whimsical read.

Holy smokes what a great story!!! This was my first read from this author but I was not disappointed!!!! Carmen is a witch in hiding. She's been on the run with her mother for years but doesn't really understand why. She is bit of a damp squib when it comes to magic. She takes over a librarian job when her friend Abbie goes missing. But the proverbial hits the fan when a sexy magical bounty hunter comes to the library to audit their magical relics! Carmens life lurches from one crisis to another. Her best friend is under pressure and is becoming more aggressive and threatening to kill her own grandmother, who lets face it is not the nicest person. Dylan is a mortal and the stated hottie magic buster. But he's not as clean cut as Carmen thinks he is. He needs her magical ability to try and help his mum get over the death of his brother. He soon becomes embroiled in the plans to help Ellie and her gran. Throw in a magical almost friend being thrown at Carmen as a possible husband and some very deep dark family secrets and this is a fabulous book!!! A great mix of magic, secrets, family rifts and romance!!! Superb fully formed and lovable characters. Some of whom you will love to hate! I truly hope that there are more stories to come in this series!!!
