Grandpa's Farm by Erica Runae Lomelino-Stewart

I have been a military wife now for over 10 years and have been blessed to travel and see many places in the world but some of my favorite memories are growing up on my grandpa's farm. The inspiration for this book is to share some of those childhood memories with others and especially my daughter Olivia Grace.

Today I get to visit my grandpa on his farm. Grandpa works very hard from sunrise to sunset. There are so many things to do. I better get there early to help him out.

My grandpa makes breakfast before we head out to do the chores. He makes my favorite, bacon and eggs with toast.

After breakfast we walk to the barn, and fill some buckets with corn to feed the sheep. The sheep have already gathered outside the barn, and are eager to be fed. As soon as we open the door, they rush to us. They try to get the corn out of the buckets before we can put it in the feeder. I drop my bucket from all the excitement and some of the sheep eat it up.

Grandpa said one of the sheep had a lamb, but she's not nursing. We need to feed her from a bottle. We go into the barn where the lamb is, and fix her a bottle to drink. She runs to Grandpa as soon as she sees him. He lets me hold the bottle. She is very hungry. She drinks the whole bottle in just minutes.

Next, we walk to the water pump to pump some water for the cows. We fill our buckets with water. Mine is so heavy. Grandpa is strong, and can carry two buckets. My bucket is only half full, and it still takes both hands to carry. Some of the water splashes out, and I get all wet.
