As someone learning the grant writing process I found this book to be helpful. Johnson goes into details about the information you should acquire prior to writing and the files you should create once you've submitted your proposal. If there was one item I would have liked it would have been a chapter on terminology. The difference between "staff" and "program costs" isn't something a new grant writer would know. That would have been helpful.
