If you like spy stories, this is a classic. The attitutes about women are very paternalistic, but it was consistant with the romaticized view of women in that period.

This is undoubtedly the best mystery this early 20th century scribe ever produced. Is the protagonist really Everard Dominey, or his exact doppelgaenger, a German spy ? Oppenheim crafted this tale splendidly, and only unfolds all the details at the very end. If you relish tales of First World War British espionage, this book shouldn't be missed.

I have enjoyed reading this book a few times and, already owning it in hardback, decided to buy the inexpensive nook version. The pages are all there, but were out of order at the start of each chapter. Annoying, but workable. I would recommend buying a better version.
