About the Author

R.L. Stine has more than 350 million English language books in print, plus international editions in 32 languages, making him one of the most popular children’s authors in history. Besides Goosebumps, R.L. Stine has written other series, including Fear Street, Rotten School, Mostly Ghostly, The Nightmare Room, and Dangerous Girls. R.L. Stine lives in New York with his wife, Jane, and his Cavalier King Charles spaniel, Minnie. Visit him online at

Trip Park grew up in Ithaca, New York, and went to college at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was first drawn to advertising. He then moved to Chicago, later New York, where he joined advertising agencies and worked on kids’ favorites including Cap’n Crunch, Gatorade, Kellogg’s, and Ronald McDonald. His children’s commercials have won numerous awards. But advertising also brought something equally as rewarding. There he got to work with some of his favorite illustrators. Watching these artists create their pieces inspired Trip Park to try his hand at illustrating himself.

Trip Park has illustrated a number of children's books including Gopher Up Your Sleeve, written by Tony Johnston, Trout, Trout, Trout! (A Fish Chant) and Ant, Ant, Ant! (An Insect Chant), both written by April Pulley Sayre. He has also developed characters and helped animate commercials for Nickelodeon, The California State Fair, Lego, and many others. When Rotten School came along, the opportunity to translate to the drawing board R.L. Stine’s cast of kids was a wonderful chance to combine his love for children’s illustration with this group of rotten students. His work can be seen at

Trip lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Laura and four children.

These are great books for boys. My son is not much of a reader but he really liked this series- it was perfect for boys, funny, stinky, weird and entertaining. This is the story of a boarding house and the way Bernie gets himself into mischief. You will laugh out loud at the things that happen. If you have a son, you must invest in these books- they will love them and you will be happy that they are reading. There are many to choose from but they are all good, I highly recommend these books.

'My parents sent this box?' That was Bernie Bridges first words when he found out who the huge box was from. Bernie lives in a dorm house because he go's to a boarding school. But theres a magior rule theres no pets allowed. Bernie and his friends bust open the box and to his suprize its his pets from home. Now he has to try not to get caught with them. When he opens the box, he finds his dog and parrot from home. All his friends tell him he's going to get caught. That's when Mrs. Heinie comes in the room and sees the bird first then the dog on the bed. Bernie spoke up and said that they were fake. And she belived him because she was almost blind. But after awhile she starts snooping around so she can find out whats going on. If you like to read about people tricking others so they can do what they want, then Rotten School is the book for you. See how far Bernie will go to make sure he can keep his pets.

This one was extremely funny in my opinion it kept in my seat from beginning to end, and well you must buy it, if you're an adult it may not amuse you as a child is with this book, but in a kids point of view, VOILA!
