This compilation of classic 1950s honky-tonk hits from the Louisiana Hayride stalwart Faron Young goes down very smoothly. With a hiccup-y sob in his voice, he sings of the usual heartbreak and occasional joys, but in such a sweet and easy way that new listeners will be captivated and old fans will sigh with nostalgia. Included here is his straight-ahead version of the Don Gibson classic "Sweet Dreams," later recorded in a more grandiose style by the late Patsy Cline.
