'Green For Life' is a revolutionary but simple idea whose time is come. Raw foods enthusiast author Victoria Boutenko has compared a standard American diet with the diet of wild chimpanzees and discovered, guess what, an outstanding difference is the percentage of greens and blossoms that are eaten by wild chimps. Her conclusion is that even raw foods consumers need to include substantially more greens in their diet. Her suggested series of 23 green smoothie recipes (containing ingredients such as kale, avocado, parsley, garlic, or strawberries, bananas, romaine and water), are easy to make and tasty to drink. The many benefits of greens consumption are clearly outlined, and by blending the greens, all the nutrients can be absorbed more easily. 'Green for Life' is filled with testimonials and is a finalist in the Health/Medicine/Nutrition category of the 2006 Independent Book Publisher Awards. It is a clear inspiration and great resource to readers who desire to lead healthier lives, and a welcome addition to personal reference collections for the health-conscious consumer.

I love this book! It is full of great information on green smoothies. I have a juicer and really know the wonderful benefits to your health of drinking fresh juiced vegetables. I didn't use it as often as I could because I really didn't want to be bothered with the clean up. Pulling the juicer apart, etc. and I had wanted to make some sort of use out of the pulp that was left over but didn't know what to do with it. With the Green Smoothie I can have all the healthy benefits of fresh veggies just popping them into my blender with whatever fruits I have and the clean up is quick and easy. No left over pulp because it's all in the Smoothie!! I have been drinking the Green Smoothies for about 3 weeks now and I can say that my taste for sweets has changed. Before I couldn't go into Barnes & Nobles without buying a Chai Frappachino but now I just get a water or tea (without sugar) and I'm fine. Thank you so much to Victoria for caring enough to share this important information for our health and well being. Let's all get healthy!!!

I had heard of the Boutenko family and had visited their website previously, however, it wasn't until I heard Mrs. Boutenko on an interview during WISH (Women's International Summit for Health) that I actually paid attention to her message. I purchased this book and couldn't put it down! I greatly appreciate the research that Mrs. Boutenko has done to find out about the benefits of greens. I have been having green smoothies in the morning, sometimes twice a day. The smoothies fill me up, have cut down on cravings and I know that I'm getting my daily requirements of 9 servings of fruits and vegetables. As someone who barely eats a salad....this is a HUGE nutritional improvement for me! It's my first step towards a more raw food lifestyle. I have recommended this book to many of my friends.

I used to do a lot of juicing in the past but it is very time consuming and really messy. My problem is over since I got Green for Life. Making smoothies is a great alternative to juicing. It is much faster, less messy, and you also get some fiber in addition to juice. In addition to great recipes for making smoothies the book is also a good source of information about proper nutrition, the importance of hydrochloric acid in the stomach and much more. Get this book!! Another great volume that you may not miss is Can We Live 150 Years. These two books together make a perfect gift of showing the way to healthy living just for anyone.

If you are looking for that something, and ready for a change. Than this book is for you. If you want to lose weight, have more enegry, or be happier, than you have found your frist step to a change for life and a way of eating that will help you and our environment.

This was the first book I bought on going raw and making green smoothies. Green for Life is quick and easy to read providing lots of information on the health benefits of eating green and making green smoothies. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

This was a very good book to get you started eating more greens. There is a lot of good information given. I would definitely suggest reading this if you are wanting to add something healthy to your lifestyle.

If you do nothing else to help your health and well being read this book and start drinking green smoothies! The energy, vitality and health benefits are real. The family's story is inspiring and there is good evidence that the smoothies and raw diet really works. Works for me!

I have not yet finished reading the stories, but almost! Am anxious to try the recipes. I have been juicing for only a few months, but have already noticed the increase in energy as well as the decrease in my craving for sweets.

I just finished the book. It has convienced me to go raw and eat more greens. When I first started reading the book I went for a whole day eating raw. i could tell a difference after one day. A good read, and even better way to live.
