This is the best smoothie book I have found on the market thus far, with a variety of recipes patterned to improve overall health and wellness. I would recommend the book to anyone who enjoys juices and smoothies, as there are a plethora of recipes with varying ingredients – providing more than enough options for anyone to find something to enjoy. My personal favorite is the “Fruity Vitality Smoothie” - a delicious drink made with raspberries and kiwis. There is also a section on juice cleansing for those looking to improve their digestive system and cleanse their body of toxins.

Green smoothies taste so much better than they look. With just a few more pounds to take off now since I started with the green smoothie routine, I’m happier both inside and out. I learned a great deal from this book. The recipes are very simple to make, and include various fruits that bring a welcome taste to all the smoothies. Really happy with my purchase and am looking forward to even greater results!

This book is full of information and some interesting smoothie recipes.  However, I would personally like to see a little more scientific references for some of the health claims that they make.  It's fine and dandy to SAY that something has certain properties, but I'm not sure I buy it.  But there are a lot  of recipes and some of them look super tasty, so it might be worth a buy.

This is a great book. It serves 2 purposes in that it describes the health benefits of incorporating smoothies into your diet, and it contains all the plans and recipes you need whether you want to cleanse, lose some weight, or improve the function of your body by drinking smoothies once a day or occasionally. From sweet, fruity blends to creamy avocado to spicy gazpacho, this book has a smoothie for everyone.  Some are complicated with a lot of ingredients, but most are very simple.

Smoothies for Beginners, who you calling a beginner? Being a self-proclaimed Know-It-All, this book floored me with its information on smoothies being better than juicing. I had no idea that putting yogurt, milk or ANY kind of proteininto my smoothies was defeating the nutritional purpose of drinking the doggone smoothie in the first place. This bookreally is informative and has become my go-to-book for cleanses and detoxing, which are two very different processes and results. I highly recommend this book! -Ceakou

I decided to try the green smoothie approach to cleansing my body reluctantly. I researched books before buying and settled on Green Smoothies for Beginners. This is a detailed book with a health program incorporating green smoothies that will get you started on the road to healthier living. Well written and informative, complete with many recipes. I have read this book eagerly and have begun to use the instructions to get my body on the road to a cleaner, healthier existence. Well worth the couple of dollars you'll spend for the recipes alone. Easy to read and full of information that will give you a healthier, happier life.

Most of the time, authors of books like these will scare you into a diet that’s not good for you, but this one’s a slightly different story. The introductory section of this book contains very solid counsel with regards to any eating change – talk to your doctor! They list of warning flags and conditions to highlight the fact that smoothies may not be the best course for everyone, which is rare for these fad diets. While the recipes are great, Chatham gives taste profiles for the most popular fruits, vegetables, and spices to help you build your own recipes from scratch! I’ll be keeping this one on hand for a while.

This smoothie recipe book has some recipes that are little too exotic for my tastes, like the Greener Goddess Gazpacho and Green Vichyssoise. Sticking to my usual favorites, though, lets me reap the health benefits I’ve come to expect while still getting great-tasting drinks. A great book for those looking for a little extra in their smoothie recipes.

The Best Smoothie Book For Newbies Green Smoothies for Beginners? Who knew that many forms of Cancer can be prevented by adding certain Fruits & Veggies into your Smoothie Recipe? Did you know that Dill has been used since the beginning of time as a cure for Headaches? Move over Tylenol! These are just a few of the many “Knowledge Notes” that the Author shares throughout this easy to read and refreshing Book, on a subject that many may consider a Fad. After reviewing all the Yummy Recipe ideas and how they can easily be incorporated into my daily routine, I am excited to make Smoothies and Juicing an alternative to meals and part of a new healthier lifestyle. *Book was donated for review*

Now that I understand the difference between juicing and making green smoothies, and that I don't need fancy equipment or strange ingredients, I may have found my new breakfast and snack treats. The recipes in this book sound scrumptious -- maybe even a little decadent! They definitely sound simple.

This is an excellent book for anyone starting, or considering starting, to introduce smoothies into their daily lives! It was very clear and encouraging, with simple delicious recipes, and information that breaks down the taste, yield, and health benefits of various possible ingredients. It covers all the bases, including how to do a smoothie cleanse, if desired. A great read for beginners!

If I am going to consume KALE, then I would prefer it be NOT in a SALAD. That is why "Green Smoothies for Beginners" makes consuming the nutrients of something healthy easy by making giving you the taste of something not healthy. You can reap the benefits of going "GREEN" and still enjoy your Zesty Garden Greenie smoothie.

I loved this book, it was simply amazing. With an index that lists the greens and other healthy foods and a list of why it was good for you, this is such a great resource.  This is a super book that you should read and share around to everyone, even if they are not looking to get healthy it could just help them take a look at their own lives and start on a path to getting healthier.  Britt C.

At first I was a little skeptical of the Green Smoothies for Beginners recipe book but it was easy to comprehend, and it provided me with both sides of the spectrum to the smoothie lifestyle, which made me want to give it a try even more. After I tried the three day detox I could tell the change within my cognitive function, digestion, energy, and skin. If you’re interested in living a healthy lifestyle, while enjoying the variety of tasty smoothie recipes than this is the book for you.

With “Green Smoothie” you eat a little less unhealthy food, so that slowly but surely you can sip your way into serenity, mind, body and soul. It is easy to make a green smoothie. But unfortunately most of the time they are not delicious and you don't know how to make them delicious. This book solves this problem and even better it gives so much information about green smoothies. Information about how to find the right ingredients, which herbs you should use, how to make them more sweet, salty or spicy. I strongly recommend it.

Green Smoothies for Beginners explains the concept of drinking vegetables blended up with fruits and also the different advantages  of drinking them. In this book by Rockridge University Press there are recipes to teach you how to blend the different veggies and fruits  as well as 3 different cleanses that you can choose from depending on your preference.   Green Smoothies for Beginners was alright I would recommend to anyone looking to cleanse their bodies of unwanted toxins.

I’ve never tried anything like this, and I will admit that I was skeptical to fall into the “juicing/smoothie” trend. I used to think that they were all the same; but this book is so much more! Not only does it show me how to do certain juices for specific problems like skin, detox, and energy; but it also gives me a ton more options to try and play around with!

Using ancient ideas of raw food, herbs and spices to promote health, this simple guidebook offers health information, basic guidelines and recipes. The focus is on using the greens of the produce options for their health benefits. The Western diet moved away from natural health benefits in favor of mass-produced commercialized and highly processed foods. This resulted in a variety of chronic health problems for multiple generations. This little book for beginners is a great tool to have for our shift toward a healthier eating habits.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was easy to understand and follow. A lot of the information I was not aware of. I have recently started to juice and new some of the health benefits of it. However, I did not know all the health benefits of smoothies or juicing. This book gave me a lot insight and let me know that I am on the right track.

Perfect for the beginner, and anyone interested in creating tasty and healthy smoothies, “Green Smoothies for Beginners” is the perfect guide.  This is a simple and established method to eat more fruits and vegetables and in a more palatable way than may have been expected.   The book covers all the basics:  recipes, health benefits, detox plans, tips for getting started, list of fruits and vegetables to use with the health benefits of each and more.

Who knew a blender would become my most prized kitchen possession?  I have tinkered with smoothies before, but this book makes incorporating smoothies into everyday life easy and I love my increased energy!  I recommend the Mega Omega Smoothie for any avocado lovers like me.

jeninchar: The title describes this book perfectly. This book shows the best way to get started with green smoothies to enhance your health. Explanations for which ingredients to use and why are clear. The recipes and plans use a great variety of ingredients for even the pickiest of eaters- like me!
