--In the second book, The Jokeress: Grey Area,
Swann begins to experience and contemplate the new challenges brought on by the tainted injections she received from Lakso.
--The extra terrestrial setting of the story is introduced to the readers.
--Swann, Louse, and Calista reunite after Calista escapes incarceration.
--Calista and Louse abduct Lakso for his role in the Nanorod project, not knowing, at first, what he did to Swann.
After the meeting with Swann,
Calista and Louse take Lakso to the Crypt.
