Griff Montgomery, Quarterback by Jean C. Joachim

Ten years ago, Griff Montgomery, star quarterback of the Kings and womanizer, became a stand-in father for his widowed sister's kids. His happy family life collapsed when she and her new husband moved to California. Griff wanted his own family. But where does a "player" go to find his ideal mate? Surely not the courthouse!

Having sworn off marriage forever, Lauren Farraday barely kept her life together after her divorce. With her career shaky and depression closing in, the last thing she needed was a courtroom battle with a sexy athlete.

Forced, by a judge, to communicate, the pair came to an uneasy truce. Wary of Griff's reputation with women, and hiding a secret, Lauren holds on to her heart. Unwilling to risk another tragedy in her life, she keeps him at arm's length. Can the quarterback handle the truth or will he walk away, like he has in the past?

The writing of Jean C. Joachim is very engrossing. I hadn’t read anything by her before but I think I will be checking out the other books in this series. I love this sports series. I enjoy the way the story flows through the relationship between Griff and Lauren.  I love the story of the quarterback finding his love. The rainbow of emotions makes this a page turner. I read the whole book in one sitting.  I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.

Jean Joachim has done it again. Once I started Griff, I couldn't put it down. Griff and Lauren meet in the most unusual of ways, and to say they disliked each other would be an understatement. It didn't take long for the sparks begin to fly though. Loved both Griff and Lauren's characters. They are both suffering emotional pain, and they find healing with each other. It had me in tears through some of it, then wanting to smack some drama makers in other parts. Very well written. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves a hot football romance

Griff is my new book boyfriend. Who wouldn't want a hot man who plays professional football, loves his family, and will go to court for a dog? Lauren does not want to fall in love again, but does love her dog, and heads to court to fight for him! Going from loathing to loving is difficult to do,, but Joan Joachim was able to make this work. I really wondered how these two were going to get together! I enjoy getting invested in the peripheral characters, and in this book, we saw family members, old flames, and other football players. It was more than just the hero and heroine interacting. I didn't give this book 5 stars because I was not happy with the way Griff allowed his dad to manipulate him. It worked out, but I just couldn't see Griff being a party to the machinations his dad played to keep Griff and Lauren apart. If I were Lauren, I would have been WITH Griff no matter what! This is the first Jean Joachim book I've read...and it won't be my last. The story moved along well, and there were twists and turns toward their HEA that added to the story. It was a 'sit in my comfy reading place and finish in one sitting' kind of book! I hope we see more of Griff and Lauren in subsequent books in this series!!

This is another example of Jean's outstanding ability to make you fall in love with her characters. Griff is the guy every woman dreams of and I love that Jean carries the theme of pugs through in this story! I would recommend this book to everyone who enjoys a romance with a HEA, you won't be disappointed.

Once again Jean has provided with a wonderful book about love and almost losing the great thing you had. Loved this quarterback and his interior designer. So glad that he found Zander/Spike from being alone in the world. can not wait for book 2.
