This book was one of the first books on paganism/witchcraft that I bought and it is wonderful. I use it all the time. Great for beginners. It includes rituals, important days, palmistry, herbs, Yule songs, and more. It is definitely a must-have for all pagans.

This is a great book for the budding witch, as it does a lovely job of outlining the basics. Moura's Book of Shadows features a little bit about nearly all aspects of Green Witchcraft and isn't drenched in her personal convictions regarding the craft, as some titles certainly are. There are one or two spells that disappointed me, as I felt that they violate the karmic law of threefold, such as the spell to return a wandering lover -- what happened to respecting the free will of others and working toward the wellfare of all? In spite of this, the book is still worthy of a spot on the bookshelf of anyone new to the path. There's a healthy sum of definitions regarding tools of the craft, a detailed list of holidays and other magic-related observances, as well as a section on spells, meditations, palmistry, tarot, sigils, astrology and magical ingrediants (namely herbs.)

Moura did a wonderful job on this book! Being one of my favorite authors to begin with, Moura really touches on Green Witchcraft well in this book and leaves a lot of information for the reader to take for themselves and adapt for their own mind. Quality! Quality! Quality!

This book is well written, a wealth of information for the newer solitary, especially. Several detailed correspondence lists, with rituals for the Sabbats and Esbats, Circle casting, information on tools, herbs, oils, teas, and much more. A great resource for the Green Witch.

this book is very helpful to beginers. When my cousin and I first started this was the first book of our choice. The first time we read it we were swept away by most of the spells(literaly).

Great source for spell casting, personal/ritual/spiritual cleansing, along with symbol descriptions, songs, astrology, and studies of Moon Phases. Ann Moura provides detailed old family traditions to modern practices which are are so articulate. Her book contains great recipes for healing and mental alertness. Major supplimental plus in this book is a Tarot index, which includes decriptions of all Major and Minor Arcana and its 78 meanings including reversals. Great for every beginner practicing the Wiccan Religion. Price is also very reasonable.

After months of searching, I finally found the book that has it all; calender of events, symbols & signs, tools & materials, alphabets, craft terms, circle casting, rituals, yuletide carols, correspondences and rituals and activities for each Sabbat, recitations (charges, chants, runes, and redes), meditations, general correspondences, the sigil wheel (I finally understand it!), moon gardening, animal totems, the ultimate herbal correspondence list, geomantic characters, planetary seals, spells, recipes for teas and oils and baths, detailed divination information, and my favorite is the palmistry diagram! Thank you so much Ann Moura for sharing your knowledge with the world!

I found this a bit old-fashioned, yet very informative altogether. For instance, I did my Dedication from this book, and it had an oath that was a bit weird, but there is nothing else inside that would be alien to a witch. I would recommend this book to any friend I had that wanted to know a little bit (or even a little bit more, in my case) about Wicca.

I bought this book and enjoyed it greatly. It has a bit of everything in there that would be of use to a beginner or an experienced practioner. This should be a book that is in every pagan library. A must read!
