I usually like this author but this one was silly. A young woman and a wagon train guide marry so she can get to California to marry a rich man. Writing was silly and boring. No substance to the story. Silly is the only way to describe the story line.

The ability to tell a story does not make a good writer. The writing has several grammatical mistakes and uses incorrect, modern language that was not in style during the period when the story takes place. The story was too contrived and, frankly, not believable. This one was a waste of time.

It was a sweet story and a quick read.

This book follows The Marriage Agreement and I loved that we get to see Jesse and Laura again. Joe is still seeking out their friendship and advice. It was wonderful to watch him slowly change his mind about Michelle. He’s positive that staying far away from her will help his broken heart but she’s one persistent girl. I loved her generous nature and outgoing spirit. She’s the perfect match for Joe. Adult read
