Path to the Truth

When we first receive the faith we are unaware of the greatness of and its all-encompassing reality; however, we are given an insight into the beauty of our faith when we begin to express it and live it. How often when we were children we sought out the teachings of others who have been given the responsibility to teach us. We accepted first-hand their wisdom and guidance. We could not see within them as God does to see if they were living the truth or in the state of grace. We accepted their testimony as children who were seeking the truth and we accepted the teachings of the faith from those who were sent to us.
As time grew on and we began to experience the richness of our faith for ourselves and we relied less heavily upon the affirmation of our faith from others, we started to see things as they were and we began to live more by our inner conscience rather than the external factors that could tell us things about our faith. It was much like the woman whom Jesus had met at the well and she had seen for herself who Jesus was. She needed no one to tell her for she had experienced. It was the same with Mary Magdalen at the tomb and Zaccheus hidden in the tree so that he could see Jesus. The Pharisees was telling these early followers of Jesus one thing, but when they met Jesus first-hand they understood for themselves.
