After a failed bodyguarding assignment, the last thing Presley West wants is to save a damsel in distress, but the spunky woman he finds standing on the side of the interstate in the pouring rain brings out his protective instincts. Amber Barlow ran from the clutches of a demon, and into the arms of an angel. But the closer she gets to her guardian cowboy, the more her fear grows, because a southern gentleman like Presley could never want a woman with a past as soiled as hers.

It was so romantic, your heart would melt at the kindness of this genuine cowboy! The "damsel in distress" was hilarious, and had her own kind of fun and quirky way. Very well written, had me on the edge of my seat at times!
I was hooked from the first scene. I found that scene and the entire book cute, funny, flirty and emotionally satisfying. It's everything I love about a cowboy story but it's all new at the same time. It's like rediscovering this genre. But I shouldn't be surprised, Crystal-Rain Love has never let me down. And she should know her cowboy stuff, she's from the south! Haha. The characters are so vivid and I love that Amber isn't some pathetic weakling. Women can still be saved without having to be a worthless shell of a person, and Rain knows what I like in a heroine. But it wasn't just Amber who I was completely into, of course we can't forget about our tortured hero Presley. Props for the Elvis references. This is just overall a magnificently well told story with a magnificently plot and magnificently characters. For a good time read any and all of Crystal-Rain Love's books. She's simply amazing.
