Great stories, and an excellent gateway into the Guardians of the Galaxy series. A must read if you enjoyed the movie.

Entertaining, as Bendis' work tends to be, and he artwork is great, but the amount of story covered in this volume is much too slight. The story barely gets started. It's all set up but very little payoff. It seems greedy of Marvel to charge so much for so little story.

*Book source ~ Library The Star-Lord’s dad has manipulated others so that he can achieve his goal: Earth is off limits. Anyone messing with Earth in any way will be arrested. But why? Who knows? I love the artwork, but the story seems kinda shaky. Is it just me, or is Star-Lord’s dad a real asshat? I don’t have much experience in the Marvel universe as far as the comics go, so I’m not sure what the deal is in this volume. I know Star-Lord is a good guy, so why would his dad be a bad guy? Anyway, I did enjoy the banter, plus I love Iron Man. And I most especially love the artwork. There are also some enjoyable short stories at the end, one each for Drax, Groot, Rocket and Gamora.
