A great edge of your seat suspense that has you engrossed immediately. The action is nonstop throughout and you never know what the next turn of events will be. Issac’s journey is difficult and finding his way makes the story interesting. Lizzy is identifiable as a strong woman who suffers from trust issues. Dana R. Lynn never fails to deliver a page turner. I won a copy of this book. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required.

I hadn't read the previous books in this series and was really hoping that wouldn't be a problem, and lucky for me, it wasn't! In fact, I loved this book so much I'm going to go back and start with the first one and read the rest of the series. Lizzy Miller is a midwife and is going to stay with her pregnant cousin to assist with her birth, but it is too far away to take her buggy, so she has to get a ride. Unfortunately, her substitute driver has to make a stop, which leads to him getting shot and Lizzy witnessing it. Luckily, the cop who ends up protecting her is former Amish, so she feels an automatic kinship with him, which is good because the killer will stop at nothing to silence her. I love the characters in this story! They are very well written and easy to relate to. The world building, especially when we are visiting the Amish households, makes you feel like you're right there with the characters. And the suspense! It'll have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish! All in all, I thought this book was very well written and I can't wait to start at the beginning of the series and read books 1 through 5. I give it a very enthusiastic 5 out of 5 stars. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Lizzy Miller is a midwife, she is hesitant to go with a strange driver, but eventually agrees because he is the brother of her regular driver. But the new driver takes a strange route and makes an odd stop, next thing she knows she sees the driver shot. She takes off in the car, using the few driving skills that she learned while on her rumspringe. Police Officer Isaac Yoder sees a young woman driving crazily and pulls her over, unwittingly saving her from the person in pursuit. He left the Amish when he was younger, having never been baptized, yet he understands their ways. He works with Lizzy to help find out who is after her for witnessing the murder, Isaac knows that he can’t ask Lizzy to act against her faith, so he finds ways to protect her while respecting her beliefs. Action packed tale, I liked the believability of the plot and how Lizzy got all tangled up in everything. Lizzy and Isaac make a good team, and I liked how respectful and mindful Isaac was of the fact that Lizzy had been baptized into the church and that there were things even for her safety that he couldn’t ask of her. There were many surprises along the way, and I liked the tension. Isaac is a good man, and good at what he does, he has a passion for working with the dog, though he has lost contact with his family and his faith. Lizzy is struggles to trust others, after the trauma of her youth, fights with fears, yet clings to her faith. While a great stand alone, this is the sequel to Plain Retribution, and if you have read that book I think it will make this one a must read, it will help you understand more of Lizzy’s past and reservations. I liked the plot, fast-paced, and it kept me guessing. Great interaction between the characters and I thought that the various facets of the story were used very well, creating tension that left me know knowing how this would end. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The suspense begins on the first couple of pages of this book, and doesn’t end until the last couple of pages at the end of the book. I really liked the unique storyline of this book: An Amish young lady, Lizzy, witnesses a murder; comes face to face with the murderer. It’s up to Isaac, an ex-Amish police officer, to protect her until she can identify or testify against the murderer. Aside from the suspenseful story, I liked this book because of the main characters, Lizzy and Issac. Lizzy was both strong and vulnerable at the same time. Even though she was in grave danger, she held on to her faith and trusted God. Lizzy’s character gives this book its heart, and made me hope all throughout the book that Lizzy would come through the danger and find her happily-ever-after. I have not read the other books in this series, but that had no effect on my enjoyment of this story. I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

It’s amazing how Dana R. Lynn can create a suspense story that is not your typical read intertwined between the English and Amish culture. Lizzy Miller was introduced in an earlier book of Amish Country Justice series with enough history given of her past that Guarding the Amish Midwife can be read as a standalone. Lizzy faced another trauma and had a lot to overcome in trusting Officer Isaac Yoder. With his past being Amish and becoming an officer brought his own trauma to life as he was trying to protect Lizzy and others from the danger that lured with a murder, kidnapping, ransacking, and so much more in this suspense story. There were plenty of surprises as the suspense unfolded as to all who was involved and why. Fans of Dana R. Lynn or suspense will not want to miss reading Guarding the Amish Midwife with the complexity of the plot, well developed characters along with romance and faith being tested. The end results might just be the most unexpected in several ways. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was under no obligation to write a review and post it. All thoughts are my own.

I love how the author was able to entwine two worlds, the Englisch and the Amish. Isaac left the Amish life to become a police officer in memory of his brother who was murdered. When Lizzy an Amish woman becomes a witness to a murder, Isaac is the officer she finds. Lizxy is no stranger to danger and Isaac begins to question his choices as he comes to care for Lizzy. Full of suspense and surprises this is a page turner that is hard to put down. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.

This is not your usual Amish story, nope, we have been gifted with a story that has non-stop action, so don’t get to comfy, trouble is right around the corner. With what was supposed to be a hired ride to her cousin’s to be there for the birth of her child, turns this young Amish’s woman’s life around. Is history repeating itself, we have met this woman before, and Lizzy survived, but this time it isn’t looking good. Add in an attraction to a former Amish policeman, and then there are so many attempts on her life! Then, well you will need to read this one, there are surprise bombshells coming! Enjoy this quick read! I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Harlequin, and was not required to give a positive review.

Amish midwife Lizzy Miller is on her way to deliver a baby, but her driver makes a stop that gets him killed and Lizzy witnesses the whole thing. She’s now on the run and must rely on an Englisch police officer to keep her safe. This goes against everything she believes in. Isaac Yoder has left his Amish life behind after he vowed to right the wrong of his brother’s death. However, he finds himself thrust back into that life when he promises to protect the beautiful Lizzy Miller. After numerous attempts on her life, he hides her in his childhood home and reunites with his sister and mother. Can Lizzy and Isaac stay hidden long enough to catch the killer? Will they figure out their feelings for each other before it’s too late? This romantic suspense novel by Dana R. Lynn will keep you turning the pages to find out what happens to these loveable characters. I loved this book and can’t wait to see more from this author. The setting is a mix of Amish and Englischer lives and is brought together nicely. The use of the senses brings the story to life. Well done. The characters are well developed and likable. You feel yourself cheering them on as they race against the clock. I liked that the author brought in characters from past books. The plot keeps you guessing and glued to the pages. The twist at the end will shock the reader! I give Guarding the Amish Midwife five stars. It’s a suspenseful ride you’ll want to get on! **Book has been provided courtesy of the author in exchange for my honest review.

This is an incredible romantic suspense novel! I love the development of both of the main characters in this story. They have each had very difficult circumstances in their pasts that have shaped who they are. Lizzy was a victim in a very frightening attack a few years before this book opens. She still struggles with many fears because of it. Isaac lost his brother in a violent attack and made life changing choices as a result. The memory of that event still drives him. I was amazed at how strong Lizzy was in this new situation after what she had already been through. The plot was fantastic! It kept me on the edge of my seat. I was totally invested in the outcome. I talked to Isaac a lot during the second half of the book. He seemed a little dense to me and I knew what he needed to do long before he figured it out. He just didn’t want to listen to me. I get so frustrated with characters that don’t listen to me. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was not required to give a positive review.
