Guest More than 1 year ago
I discovered Randy Newman two years ago. Ever since then I've regarded him as THE BEST songwriter of the past 30 years. His songs can be biting satires (Rednecks, Short People), ragtimey ditties (Have You Seen My Baby?, Mama Told Me Not To Come), or soft introspectives (Marie, God's Song). Definitely one of the lost treasures of American music. If only he were more widely recognized for the genius he obviously possesses.
