Gertrude has amnesia with no memory of the baby she carries or who the father might be. When she meets a sailor with turquoise eyes her memories begin to surface, leaving her chilled with the realization of her past. But when her baby is kidnapped her focus is only on finding him.
About the Author
Nikki Broadwell has been writing non-stop since the early 2000's. From the time when she was a child her imagination has threatened to run off with her and now she is able to give it free rein. Animals and nature and the condition of the world are themes that follow her storylines that meander from fantasy to paranormal murder mystery to shapeshifters--and along with that add the spice of a good love story.

I liked the premise of this story and for the most part it was good. And as I repeatedly state in my reviews that I love time travel stories. But what consistently bugged me is the stubborness and sometimes stupidity of Getrude. Her constant jumping to conclusions, her never wanting to listen to what's for own good. It was extremely irritating to read through her self-pitying antics. And the way she treated Kafir, she wanted him, she didn't , the back and forth of that, made my brain hurt. Like I said, the premise was good, but the lead character was a majot pain the butt.
