Mia sits alone on the edge of a bridge, watching the dark, mysterious waters below. Bored with the banality of life, she wonders when the fire in her blood will be reignited. She won't wait long...
Mistakenly assuming she's a jumper, a ruggedly handsome motorcyclist lends a hand, and instantly an irrevocable bond between them is forged. Caleb is different - otherworldly, and almost supernaturally attractive - but the more that Mia discovers about her new lover, the more he seems to shy away, especially when he notices her increasingly unusual behaviour around him, and the mysterious birthmark on her body.
Little does Mia know that her hitherto ordinary life is about to change forever; she's about to find out that Caleb is no ordinary man, and that she herself is certainly no ordinary woman...
Can Mia handle the knowledge that werewolf blood flows through her veins? Can Caleb protect his lover from the plots and machinations of his own clan? Or will the pair be swept away by the supernatural waters that threaten to overwhelm them both?

I started out really liking this book. I gave it two stars because I liked the first part, which I bought separately, before deciding to by the whole thing. It didn't take long into the second part for me to be disappointed. I felt that none of the characters had any backbone for the rest of book. I was skipping through the romantic scenes, and just trying to get through the book as fast as possible. I lost all interest after the main character switched who she wanted to be with so quickly. The relationship between the original couple was barely established before they were over, and then the second relationship took up a majority of the rest of the book. For only 127 pages, I felt the author spent too much time with the main characters apart, and then threw them back together at the last moment. So in the end it left me dissatisfied, and upset that I wasted $5.
I only read the first story and wont read the rest. This is not a great story to begin with. There wasnt alot of detail, and i dont know why but i was having a hard time getting into it, and like the other reviewer i was skimming thru the sex scenes. They really didnt hold me. There were also to many sex scenes. And i usually like the scenes. But these just seemed to just run together. I would have preferred more character developement and a plot. We know nothing about calab and even less about Jack. Also the title is the alphas mate. Which apparently is misleading. No i wouldnt recommend this.
I difinately loved how Caleb and Mia story started and developed and seems ment to be, with him saving from hurting herself or so he thought. Why didn't he challenged his Alpha from taking her away from him and made her believe that another man has dumped again so soon after Gary. Men! I believe if you love someone then you need to stand up for them. Mia need to get to know herself, self confidence and run not from affair to another so easily. She needs to grow up. Hope this is it for her and Caleb now they are back together again.
