I would highly rate the performance and sound quality. The bass and hard hitting percussions sound more real then most groups live recordings. I listen in stereo with a 350 watt per channel parassound amp through my Fried transmission line satellite and subwoofers and the sound from this recording is the next best thing to hearing the Moody Blues live. The bass and percussion are even better then A night at red rocks.

The songs and the Moodys are, of course, great... But this album is some of the worst rendering of their work I've ever heard. Was really, really looking forward to it and totally bummed when I played it. The sound quality, the recording, (played on a very expensive high end system, by the way) sounds like it was made with cheap portable equipment.. Sounds almost as bad as an old bootleg recording.. Whoever miked it did a poor job, too.. It's as flat, cold and "digital" sounding as it could be... Awful. The rendering of the songs by the Moodys was also a major disappointment and not helped by the poor recording. Downright lame versions of some good stuff...

Once again the Moodies have shown thay can still perform songs that excite young & old. Our only wish is that once thier final performance does come, it will be with Mike Pinder!

the Moody Blues should be in the rock music hall of fame, if they're not already. they are unequalled in rock.
