The story kinda bumbles along. I don't think the author did a good job of making believe that Will was a reformed manwhore. I also got turned off by Jack complaining about his wife all the time. He felt incredibly insensitive and mean when you read about him dissecting how unhappy he was during his marriage when his wife wouldn't have been there to defend herself. I think I would have rather him stopped at we were young and dumb and made it work. Or young Jack didn't know what he really wanted and now grown up Jack does. That said...they managed to work it out satisfactorily in the end.

This was an enjoyable read but I would have liked to know how they were going to work out their relationship long term since their lifestyles are so different. The characters were interesting and fun.

A very lovely and hot sexy about 2 perfectly imperfect MC's. Jack is a widow who stayed with his wife for 24 years and I think the author did a great job showing their personal love and commitment but also the fact that they got married because she got pregnant and they "did the right thing," not necessarily because they were "in love." Typically when that happens there is fighting, cheating, angst, etc. but with Jack and his wife, they made a strong home for themselves and their kids - maybe not one based on true love but it showed a type of commitment we don't see much anymore. Now Jack has the opportunity to find love and he finds Will - sexy, sexy Will! Don't miss the short and free read on Claire Thompson's website about Jack and Will's Valentine's Day 8 months later!

Will meets Jack when he hires him to help remodel his kitchen. Will is taking a leave of absence from his high pressure job on Wall Street and has bought a house to fix up. Jack is a widower who makes a living making furniture and remodeling homes. Will is also basically a player who is attracted to his handman. It's just that he is so built and so fine! Jack seems friendly, but straight so he figures all that would ever happen is at least a friendship. Then he sees a similar response in Jack's eyes. Could it be? Jack is not sure what he is feeling. He has not felt like this in over twenty years. An attraction to another man. It is definitely there, but he has no idea what to do about it. He was married for so long he is basically starting over. Will and Jack are friends, and they try to be honest with one another. I liked that. I found this story to be more believable since they were open about what was going on and how they felt. It is hard to build trust but with a friend, it comes easier. This story was slow but picks up. It is just that there were parts I felt like were kind of forced. I liked the book overall - has a solid story line. I even wanted to defend the main characters to those that opposed them. ***This ARC was given in exchange for an honest review only.
